How it works for customers: homeowners, builders, contractors and companies
Post one sealant job, hear from up to 3 mastic and sealant applicators, choose the one you want. No account or password needed.
- Describe the job. Pick the type of sealant work and the closest job, write a short description and add up to 5 photos. Photos help applicators give a realistic guide price. Location data is removed from every photo.
- Say who you are and what is involved. Homeowner, landlord, builder, main contractor, other trade, company or facilities manager: anyone can post, and saying which (optional) helps applicators plan for site inductions, working hours and access such as towers or MEWPs. If the old mastic might contain asbestos, tick the box and applicators will see a warning.
- Give your postcode district and timing. Only the first part of the postcode (for example MK40 or BT7) is shown to applicators. A budget is optional.
- Get your private link. We email you a private link to your job page. Keep it: it is how you see claims and choose. If you lose it, we can send a new one.
- See who covers your area. Your job page shows how many applicators for that type of work cover your district. Applicator numbers vary by area, so in some areas the answer may be none, and we will say so.
- Compare claims. Up to 3 applicators can claim your job with a message and a guide price. You can see each one's profile, years in the trade and photos of their work.
- Choose one. When you choose, your name, phone and email go to that applicator only, and you get theirs. The others are told they were not chosen.
- Tell us how it went. When the work is finished, mark the job as done and answer one question: was it done well? A "No" is followed up by us.
Cost
Posting a job is free. We take no commission: you agree the price with the applicator and pay them directly. See the price guide for general UK ranges, labelled as a guide only.
Staying safe
- Agree the price, what is included (removing old sealant, mould treatment, colour, access equipment) and the start date in writing before work begins.
- Never pay the full amount up front. A deposit on a larger commercial job is normal.
- On a site, agree inductions, RAMS (risk assessments and method statements) and any cards you need, such as CSCS or IPAF, before the start date.
- If old mastic might contain asbestos, have it tested before anyone cuts it out.
- Ask for photos of similar jobs or a reference.
